Sinharaja Rainforest
The last major stand of primary lowland rainforest, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Sinharaja is the island's last significant tract of primary lowland rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than half its trees are endemic, and so are most of its birds — which move through the canopy in mixed feeding flocks that a good guide can find for you. Expect rain, leeches, and one of the best walks in South Asia.
