Where to see elephants well — and which places we would rather avoid.
The Gathering at Minneriya, between June and September, is the largest concentration of Asian elephants anywhere on earth. Udawalawe delivers herds in open country almost every morning of the year, and its Elephant Transit Home releases orphaned calves back into the wild. We will always steer you towards wild herds and rehabilitation over riding and bathing attractions, and we are happy to explain why.
