Gal Oya National Park
The only park in Sri Lanka where you watch elephants from a boat.
Gal Oya surrounds the Senanayake Samudraya reservoir, built as independent Sri Lanka's first great irrigation project. Safaris here are by boat, and elephants swim between the islands. It is also home to the indigenous Vedda community, who guide walks in the forest.
