Ancient cities and temples
Two thousand years of capitals, in the dry zone triangle.
Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Kandy hold five UNESCO World Heritage listings between them. Climbed early and guided properly they are the backbone of a first trip; visited at midday with a crowd they are hot ruins. We plan them around the light and the temple calendar.
